ACC is the annual conference of the American Automatic Control Council (AACC), the U.S. national member organization of the International Federation for Automatic Control. The conference has been known by a few different names over the years, but has been held annually since 1959. The conference brings together an international community of researchers and practitioners in all areas related to the engineering and science of control systems.

We were asked to create an Atlanta-themed logo and color palette for the 2022 annual American Control Conference. The colors and imagery were inspired by Atlanta’s nickname “the city in a forest,” and local landmarks Centennial Olympic Park and the Atlanta SkyView Ferris wheel - both of which can be found downtown nearby the conference center.

The type is set in Adrianna and paired with a modular logo with many colorways to showcase the full color palette. This flexibility gives the event coordinators plenty of options to differentiate various areas of the conference and a wide range of conference materials.

The branding and color palette was used by Conference Catalysts, LLC to design the ACC 2022 website and will be used for event materials in 2022.

Included at the bottom are some round 1 and round 2 concepts for the event, before the final logo option was selected.
